Springtime Showers

There’s something about the showers in spring,
That cause the hearts of birds to sing,
While darkened, cloudy skies release,
A gentle rain.
In carefree flight they form a chorus,
Raindrops spray the leaves and floras,
Accompanying the freestyle symphony.
The air is warmed with this review,
Raindrops fill each bud and bloom,
There’s nectar carried on the wind,
Spreading springtime’s sweet perfume.
I find my senses are aroused,
Then pause to take a look around.
Discovering contentment flows within,
As I surrender to this whim,
Of watching joy exemplified,
With nature’s springtime as my guide.
